Gov. Cuomo signs “sort of” Pro gun Bill. A10204

Jacob  at NYSRPA is first again with the news.

Cornell has offered a “Bulls Eye” pistol course as part of their PE Department for several years.  If they had anyone 21 or older in that class then what they were doing was illegal because you have to have a license if you want to touch a gun if you are 21 or older.  Something must have happened because all of a sudden a bill appeared in the Senate and Assembly that allows schools to give a handgun class to people over 21.  Cornell requested the bill and this is the first year that this bill has been offered.

The bill was introduced on 5/11/12, passed the Assembly on 5/30/12 by 130 for to 7 against.  Passed the Senate on 6/12/12, 59 to 0, and was signed by Gov. Cuomo on 8/1/12

Now we have to get a bill passed that allows people to shoot as part of a class at a range.
