The Borchardt C-93 was the first semi-automatic pistol to be made in appreciable numbers. It was designed by Hugo Borchardt (1844–1921) in 1893 and made its public debut in 1894. If you built one today in NY it would be illegal because it was designed with a magazine that held 8 cartridges. They are trying to erase over 100 years of firearm design and development.
The Mauser C96 (Construktion 96) is a semi-automatic pistol that was originally produced by German arms manufacturer Mauser from 1896 to 1937 with a 10 round internal magazine fed by stripper clip or removable magazine. Again, this would be illegal under Heir Cuomo’s new law.
