WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN THE NRA
Since its incorporation in 1871, the NRA has grown as a service organization involved in all aspects of the shooting sports and a proud defender of the Bill of Rights.
As a gun owner and/or believer in the 2nd Amendment, it is important for you to join others to defend and expand your rights. One of the biggest problems that you have is staying informed. You cannot rely on the press, national, in your state or locally, to report on 2nd Amendment issues in a fair and consistent basis. How can you find out when politicians in Washington DC, your state or locally are planning to limit or take away your rights or support and expand your rights? How can you find out what politicians support your rights?
Joining the NRA is the best ways to stay informed. When you join the NRA you join with millions of others who share your belief in the 2nd Amendment and what it stands for. With your membership you will choose between one of three magazine subscriptions that best fits your needs. American Rifleman, American Hunter, or America’s 1st Freedom, all of these magazines will give you the information that you need to stay informed about laws, elections, political issues, new products and many other topics. During election time and at other times, the NRA will coordinate with your local state organizations and send you post card alerts and letters letting you know who supports your rights and who wants to reduce them or take them away. And that is not all that that the NRA has to offer.
Education, training, competition, reloading information, products, and many other topics are covered in the magazines and on the NRA website. Members also receive Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance and $2,500 ArmsCare coverage at NO COSTto you with your NRA membership. (ArmsCare covers insured firearms, air guns, bows and arrows against theft, accidental loss, and damage.)
The most important benefit of NRA membership, however, is the defense of your Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. NRA-ILA tracks the issues and alerts members about legislation involving firearms and hunting at the federal, state and local levels of government. Successful legislative action begins with you — the individual member.
