SHOOTING EVENTS IN ORANGE COUNTY NY

    If you know of Orange County shooting events that are open to the public, please let me know.  Many of the shooting events offer prizes or awards.  I will not list any event that is not open to the public or that does not allow beginning shooters.  Most but not all events will charge some minor fee to shoot.

    I can not list all of the events of all of the clubs on one calendar.  I will try to list events that are not easily available and events that are intended for the general public.  Click on the links for the clubs to see what the local clubs have going.  Most clubs allow non-members to shoot in scheduled events after paying a small fee.

ORANGE COUNTY PISTOL LEAGUE

    Leagues shoots of various types are held across Orange County.  The biggest and oldest is the ORANGE COUNTY LEAGUE.  The events were held at the West Point Pistol Indoor Range until several years ago when the range burned down but are now being held at Master Class in Monroe.  Several local clubs have teams that compete and if you are not a member of a club you can join the Master Class team.  Do not worry about not being able to compete at a high level, skill levels go from the best to the worse shooter.  It is a 22 Cal. Bullseye league and iron sights or red dots are OK.  You can shoot revolver or semi-auto. You shoot a total of 60 rounds each time and a perfect score is 600.  It is held on Tuesday nights from 4 to 9 at Master Class and a small fee is charged.  You can shoot just once or in all of the shoots.  Call Master Class at 774-4867 for more information.  If you have a license you might be able to borrow a 22 cal. if you ask in advance.
