ORANGE COUNTY CALL IN RADIO SHOWS
WTBQ, AM 1110, 651-1110
CLICK
HERE FOR WTBQ Web Site
WTBQ has audio streaming so you can
get the radio station on the internet even if you can not get
the signal at 1110 on your AM dial. It is the only radio
station in Orange County that really supports the local community
and lets all points of view on and allows anyone to call in.
Check the WTBQ web site for a full lineup, they have many types
of programs that cover many topics at different times during
the day. (I call in all of these shows when I can.)
The
Round Table - 9 AM to 10 AM
The WTBQ Roundtable Discussion Hour
is hosted by different people each day. The following
are more focused on political issues. Of course you
can always call in. |
Frank A. Fornario, Jr.
Monday
is the "The Frank Fornario Show" with Frank Fornario, a Republican and a member of the Orange County Legislature representing the 5th Legislative District. |
Tuesday
is the Bossman's day with Jerry Boss who is always "armed"
with humor and straight talk. You never know who or
what the Bossman will be talking about. What's going
on in the dark halls of Goshen and who is doing what
to whom is his specialty. |
|
Orange
County LegislatorJeff
Berkman, (D) 20th District, host a show
every Wednesday. In November 1997 Jeff was elected to
the Orange County Legislature to represent the 20th
District (Middletown and Wallkill). The district is
comprised of all of the 2nd, 3rd and part of the 1st
ward of the City of Middletown, and a portion of the
4th ward of the Town of Wallkill. |
On
Friday take a trip to the far, far left side with Pat
O'Dwyer, former Town Supervisor in Goshen and past special
assistant to Gov. Mario Cuomo for Ethnic Affairs and
Women's Issues. (Her phone number is on Hillary's speed
dial when it comes to Orange County.) |
David Dirks has a great Outdoors program on WTBQ every Saturday from 7AM to 8 AM. Catch up with what is going on in Orange County and the Hudson Valley if it has anything to do with hunting, fishing or anything anything outdoor. He has great guest every week and you can call in.
David Dirks also has a weekly article in the Times Herald-Record, and he also has his own web site: Dirks Outdoors |

WGNY, AM 1220, 561-WGNY (561-9469)
"Closing Arugments".
Join Michael Mazzariello every Saturday from8am - 10am.
A lawyer, who you might recognize from as a talking head from TV, Michael has a show every Saturday morning. More of an anarchist than anything else, he has his own way of looking at the politics of the day. Clyde is the co-host and is needed to bring back some sanity when Michael goes off the deep, (left,) end.

NEW YORK STATE RADIO PROGRAMS
NATIONAL
ORGINATIONS
NATIONAL RADIO PROGRAMS
NRANEWS.COM
This
is the premier internet gun news show in the nation. Brought
to you via the internet from 9PM to 12PM every week day by the
NRA, Cam Edwards host a show that brings you news of what is
happening on local, state, national and even international level.
They interview people from both sides of the issues and you
get to call in or send in "LTBs" or "Live Talk
Backs". They even have a daily poll question. Even if you
can not catch the show live, they record it so you can always
visit the web site, Click on the "If you missed the last
show, CLICK here to see it now." button and the show will
play and you can pause it if you want. Tune in, you
might even catch me when I call in.
Don't or Can't be tied down to your computer for 3 hours to see the show?
I have my computer plugged into a FM Transmitter made by C. Crane Company. It cost about $70, ( you can get an orpan for about $10 less,) but I can plug it into my computer and then send streaming audio to my pocket radio. (Sangean DT-110 Digital AM/FM Pocket Radio for $50, (it turns off automatically after 1 1/2 hours,) also available at C. Crane Company, or a Sony SRF-M37V available for $30.)
The range of the Transmitter is not great but it is good enough to cover most of a house. (If you call the company they can tell you how to extend the range a little.) You can set the FM transmitter to any FM frequency between 88-108 MHz.so you can avoid interference from a local station. I can be doing the dishes, cutting the grass or reloading and not miss a moment of the show.
UPDATE 7/06: The DT-110, (uses two AAAs,) is not on their website but you can still do a google search and find it. Sangean has several new radios that look like they are about the same size like the DT120V that looks like the replacement to the DT-110 and they have several others like the DT-180V that also has TV audio (channels 2-13). For some reason SANGEAN does not have all of their pocket radios on their website. |
