PLEASE NOTE:

     If you don't get this book and other NRA supplies and an official NRA Certificate, you are not taking an NRA Class. Some people give a class and claim to be an NRA INSTRUCTOR. Unless you are giving an official NRA Class the NRA does not allow you to add that you are an NRA instructor unless you note that you ARE NOT teaching an official NRA class.
     If you want to take an official NRA Class you must ask if is an Official Class and if you get the NRA Pistol Shooting Book and The NRA Certificate.
     Some people do give a safety class that they have designed that will satisfy Orange County's requirement but it can not be called an NRA Class.

Firearm Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training

The NRA FIRST Steps Course goal is to provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a specific pistol model safely. Because of the way NY State law is set up, you are not able to shoot a real gun as part of the class. After you get your license I can get together with you so you can finish the range portion for an additional small fee. I will also bring along several guns for you to shoot. After the NRA portion of the class is over, I also spend some time explaining NY law and how to apply for your pistol license in Orange County.
